Let There Be Music!

Welcome to our music page. Why do we include this? Because one does not live by work alone. We have music playing most of the time here in the office - that is when we’re not out helping clients achieve their social media goals - so it’s only natural that we share some of the artists that have recently been making us tick.
Besides, sharing is nice…

Bash & Pop
Born from the wreckage of The Replacements in 1994 and resurrected in 2016 with a new lineup, front man Tommy Stinson and mates roll through some righteous bash & pop indeed.
Anything Could Happen is a delicious blend of catchy hooks and solid melodies driven by some flat out rock 'n' roll riffing. Stinson and company have attitude to spare and the arrangements are what great rock 'n' roll is about; straight ahead, no-frills, honest lyrics and tunes. We caught onto them watching a performance of "On The Rocks" on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and got hooked - so to speak. I'm not much for music videos but the video for "On The Rocks" is very clever. Check it out here. Oh, and by the way, TURN IT UP!
Our favorite quote about Bash & Pop: “...a frisky little rocker propelled by Stinson's endless energy and peppy, raspish vocals.”

Watts band music logo
Watts
This Boston based quartet simply dishes out no apologies catchy, hooky rock and power pop. If you’re young then listen to Watts to discover what real rock bands sound like. If you are older, listen to Watts to remember why you started to rock in the first place.
Check out Watts
here and here.
Our favorite quote about Watts: “This cocktail of Stones-like rock ’n’ roll old school power pop, with lashings of the British invasion suss and vintage rock strut worked in for good measure, is as infectious a record as you’ll hear right now or in the near future.”
- Uber Rock, UK

Brickall Jackson band music logo
Brickwall Jackson
A great Alt. Country/Americana band right here in Richmond, VA. With two studio albums to their credit, Brickwall Jackson reminds us of our humanity by deftly combining the themes of life, love and family relationships with band leader Johnny Hudak’s catchy hooks, expertly crafted lyrics and dynamic band performances. The result is a powerful and innovative blend of uniquely American music. You can find Brickwall Jackson’s stuff on any of the popular music download services. Check ‘em out on
ReverbNation.
Our favorite quote about Brickwall Jackson: “Richmond is in dire need of Americana and country music that matters and actually turns ears. With Brickwall Jackson, this is happening. The quintet delivers the songs that embody our lives. Work, family, play, love, stress and life itself is all foreshadowed through the deep arrangements of Hudak’s songwriting and through Brickwall Jackson’s marvelous accord.”
- John Morgan, One Way Richmond.

The Pretty Unknown band music logo
The Pretty Unknown
This Reno, NV and Nashville, TN quintet’s self-titled debut album is quite simply a gem. Songwriter Cecil McCumber and The Pretty Unknown score on a number of levels. It’s jazzy. Its bright and sunny. It’s moody and pensive. It’s angry. And it’s oh so well-crafted. What else could you ask for? McCumber has recently moved to Nashville to pursue his musical career so the band is officially on hiatus. We have a feeling whatever incarnation McCumber surfaces with next will again be worth listening to. Check out Cecil and the boys
here.
Our favorite quote about The Pretty Unknown: “It’s like if Taylor Swift was the surrogate mother for Michael Buble and Sarah McLachlan’s love child. Then they raised the child listening to The Beach Boys and The Beatles.”

Lake Street Dive band music logo
Lake Street Dive
This multi-genre Boston band formed in 2004 is breaking big and for good reason. When we say the band is tight we mean like an Elizabethan corset tight and lead singer
Rachael Price’s vocals are simply stunning. Equal parts pop, jazz, soul and R&B, Lake Street Dive’s new release, “Side Pony”, follows in the band’s rich tradition of, well, doing everything they touch with expert, innovative and focused aplomb. Check out our fave, rave video of the band in top form performing “Don’t Make Me Hold Your Hand” here.
Our favorite quote about Lake Street Dive: “It’s not until the third or fourth (listen) that you hear how smart is it. How organic. How rich in nutrients. How thoroughly these conservatory grads are digesting their jazz/pop/soul influences and squeezing them into something unforgettable.”
- Metacritic Magnet critic’s review of “Side Pony”

Jason Isbell band music logo
Jason Isbell
Formerly of The Drive By Truckers, Isbell struck out on his own in 2007 and has been writing and performing memorable music ever since. He hit stride in 2012 with the release of “Southeastern” a collection of highly personal and vivid vignettes. His follow up album, “Something More Than Free”, released in 2015, carries on his strong country/rock/folk-influenced storytelling.
Isbell is currently in the middle of a North American tour. Catch him and you won’t be let down. Check him out on Austin City Limits
here.
Our favorite quote about Jason Isbell: “Isbell isn’t your average songwriter, and on ‘Something More Than Free’, there’s a pretty strong argument to be made that he’s outplaying anyone else in the game right now.”
- Metacritic Absolute Punk’s staff review of “Something More Than Free”

Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers band music logo
Niki Bluhm & The Gramblers
This hot band from Lafayette, CA never fails to please. Any group that can cover Hall & Oates’ “I Can’t Go For That” in a van while driving is more that OK in our book. The video is killer. Check it out
here. Bluhm has recorded solo albums and projects with both Tim Bluhm and The Gramblers. Rock, soul, country folk - Blume tackles it all, wrestles it to the ground and then lets it soar.
Oh, and before we go, another fab van video can be found
here.
Our favorite quote about Niki Bluhm & The Gramblers: “The centerpiece is Niki Bluhm’s impressive set of pipes, which could easily stand on their own with only an old acoustic. Then again you don’t want to leave a band like The Gramblers in the studio.”
